Chinks vs Chaps

What is the difference between chaps vs chinks?  Both chaps and chinks were originally designed for a cowboys protection.   However, the chaps and chinks we use in the show pen are just for looks.  They pull together an outfit!

Chaps are by far the most popular.  They are used in classes like western pleasure, horsemanship, trial, western riding and reining.  Chaps are full length with a full length zipper.  They typically have fringe and a western yoke top.  Topped off with silver conchos to hold them together.  They can be made from several types of leather.  Split suede is probably the most popular.  Ultra Suede is a great choice due to flexibility of them.  And the color range is as grand.  Black is the most popular with chocolate and steel grey making a huge trendy comeback.

Chinks are gaining popularity.  They are used for classes like the ranch riding, cutting and reined cow horse.  They are shorter than chaps as they should only go down half your shin.  They also typically have three buckles around the thigh to close. These tend to have a bit more of a wild west traditional look to them.

We offer price point stock items in the store.  Chaps around $110 and chicks $125.  Many people like custom options for the perfect fit.
